To all the moms out there – let me ask you a question. How often are you in front of the camera?
I’m guessing you’re answer is along the lines of “not much” or even “never.” Most mothers I know take on the role of the family photographer (professional or otherwise). So, in addition to wiping noses, cleaning messes, doing laundry, hugs & cuddles (and many, many more tasks) moms often find themselves behind the camera.
There are a million and one reasons to not be in pictures, am I right? I want to lose weight. My hair is a mess. There’s spit up on my shirt. Let’s face it, the list of excuses is long. Trust me, I know them all, because I’ve said ‘em all.
But you know what? Suck it up and get in front of the camera. I did recently and I can’t tell you how happy I am that I did. My children deserve to know I existed in their lives. And I deserved to take the time to make sure that my hair was down and my shirt was free from random baby mess.
Here’s another mother who decided to take the plunge and be the subject of a photo session. I know being in front of the camera is a rarity for her, but the love a mother has for her child(ren) deserves to be preserved – because they won’t be this teeny forever.
So soak in those cuddles.
Let your hair down.
Get in front of the camera.
And let your memories be preserved.
And when you can, sneak away and cuddle your spouse. Because, after all, that love is what brought you here, isn’t it?
